Many Florida bathrooms have tile over drywall or concrete block walls, so we pick anchors that fit the wall, seal every hole, and pull-test each bar before we leave.

How our crew does it
- Walk the bathroom with you and mark heights where your hand naturally lands (common reference: about 33–36 in. from the floor for horizontal bars beside toilets and tubs)
- Find framing: locate studs with a finder and confirm; plan bar length so at least one end, ideally both, lands on wood
- Choose anchors for the wall type (see safety notes)
- Drill tile with a carbide/diamond bit slowly, without hammer mode, to avoid cracking
- Seal every hole with silicone so water stays out of the wall
- Mount, tighten, and pull-test the bar by hand before we leave; clean up
Material options
- Finishes: brushed nickel, chrome, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, white
- Lengths 12–42 in.; straight, angled, L-shaped, fold-down (beside toilets), and combo bar/shelf or towel-bar styles
- Textured/knurled grip for wet hands
- Suction-cup bars are not load-rated; we install screw-mounted bars only
Safety notes
- Studs (wood framing): the strongest mount; screws go through drywall or tile into the stud
- Tile over drywall or cement board: drill through tile, hit a stud where possible; where no stud lines up, use a rated hollow-wall grab bar anchor made for that purpose (e.g. toggle-style or WingIts-type) or add blocking when the wall is open
- Concrete block / masonry (common in Florida homes): masonry bit and sleeve or wedge anchors set into solid block, not mortar joints
- Fiberglass/acrylic tub surrounds: need anchors rated for that shell, or blocking behind it; we check before drilling
- Never rely on drywall anchors or towel-bar hardware; a towel bar is not a grab bar
- If a wall can't hold a bar safely, we say so and suggest another spot or a floor-mounted option
